Hi there,
Being an avid user of DirectDraw, I’m always interested in finding new ways to squeeze just a bit more performance out of it and so I wasted little time before trying out the example you’ve presented here.

Unfortunately, although I’m sure I implemented it correctly (apart from the fact that I’m not using C++ in my project), I found it to be excruciatingly slow. However, it did get me thinking about the matter and I was able to find another method which proved to be at least 5-6 times faster than the supplied Surface.Drawline method. Looking back at your code I think I can see where I went wrong - in that pts is an array of arrays.

I will try it again but for the time being I settled for locking the target surface and passing the lockeddata to a Drawing.Graphics object and calling the DrawLine method. It puzzles me how this can be faster than DirectDraw doing it internally but it turns out to be much, much faster.

DirectDraw for the win!
